More than one place
Checks run from Cloudflare's edge network and from an observation point in Seoul. The Seoul point reads real TLS certificates and headers, and reaches Korean sites that block foreign traffic.
Decentralized Echo Network
DechoNet is a set of security checks for domains, certificates, mail and links. The name is the rule we build by: look from more than one place, compare more than one source, and report what came back — including when the sources disagree.
How we observe
More than one source
The DNS lookup compares A and AAAA answers from three public resolvers; the propagation check compares six. A certificate read over a live connection is shown next to its issuance history from Certificate Transparency logs.
Measured, with limits stated
We test our own results against known-good and known-bad sets and publish the numbers, along with what each check cannot see.
Methodology and accuracyWhat we keep
- What was looked up and the result, so the next check can show what changed. With it, a one-way hash of the client — never the IP address itself.
- IP addresses only for rate limiting, deleted within two days.
- Messages pasted into the phishing check are never stored.
- No ads and no sign-up for the tools. An email address only if you join security monitoring.
