Terms of Service
These are the terms governing the use of DechoNet services. By using our services, you agree to these terms.
Effective: October 15, 2026 (previous version: October 6, 2026)
1. The service
DechoNet offers online tools that look up and interpret what is visible from outside — domains, IPs, certificates, DNS, HTTP, email authentication, phishing links — and security monitoring (beta), which checks domains you have proven you own every day and tells you what changed.
2. Use
Use the service for lawful purposes only. Automated bulk lookups and excessive requests may be limited to keep the service stable.
3. Security monitoring (beta)
- You sign up with an email address and log in with a link we email you, not a password.
- You may add only domains you own or are authorised to manage; checks start after ownership is proven with a DNS TXT record. Ownership is re-checked monthly; without the record, alerts for that domain stop.
- Checks cover what is visible from outside only. We never access your servers or attempt an attack.
- Checks run once a day, and alerts may be late or missed. Security monitoring helps you manage security; it does not prevent incidents or guarantee security.
- Plans are Free (1 domain), Starter (3), Business (10) and Agency (30 or more); what each includes is on the pricing page (/pro). Paid plans become available once payments open. New accounts have the Starter plan free for 30 days from sign-up; we take no payment details and the account returns to the Free plan afterwards. Accounts signed in with an institutional email have the Business plan free until December 31, 2026.
- Before a free feature becomes paid or a price changes, you will get an email 30 days ahead and be asked to agree separately. Without your agreement nothing is charged and you can keep using the Free plan. When a free grant ends the account returns to the Free plan, and domains beyond its limit mail only up to the limit, oldest first.
- You may delete your account at any time. Accounts that try to add other people's domains or abuse the service may be suspended or deleted.
4. API and MCP use
The API and the MCP server (remote dechonet.com/mcp, npm dechonet-mcp) can be used without a key or with a free API key made on your account page. With a key, limits are counted per key instead of per IP. Do not share keys; revoke one right away if it leaks.
From November 8, 2026, free use is for non-commercial purposes only (personal learning and research, checking your own domains, non-profit work). Using it inside a product or service you charge for, for clients, or regularly for company work is commercial use and needs MCP·API Pro. Before payments open, ask at support@dechonet.com and we will grant commercial use individually.
The non-commercial limit in this section was announced on October 9, 2026 and applies 30 days later, from November 8, 2026.
5. Disclaimer
DechoNet does not guarantee that results are accurate, complete or current. Results reflect the moment they were taken and may differ from reality. How verdicts are made and how accurate they measured is published on the "Methodology & accuracy" page. To the extent the law allows, DechoNet is not liable for decisions based on results, except for damage caused by its intent or gross negligence.
6. Prohibited use
Malicious bulk lookups, attacks on the service's infrastructure, altering or misusing results, trying to add domains you are not authorised for, and any use that infringes the rights of others are prohibited.
7. Intellectual property
Rights to DechoNet's design, code and content belong to DechoNet. Results are based on public information; DechoNet's interpretation and analysis format are protected.
8. Changes to these terms
Changes are announced on this page 7 days before they take effect (30 days for changes against your interest), and by email to security monitoring users. If you do not agree, you may delete your account before they take effect.
